Two Coventry women are raising money for Sport Relief by cycling all the way to London and back – in the comfort of their shop in Earlsdon.Tilly Tromans and Sam Harrison, owners of Tinderbox Toys, in Earlsdon Street, decided to celebrate the shop’s third anniversary by cycling 190 miles in relay on an exercise bike outside their shop.
Tilly said: “It’s three years since we opened the doors. Usually we just have birthday cake and pass the parcel in the shop, but we thought we can’t do that again.
“With Sport Relief and the Olympics and that sort of atmosphere, we thought we ought to do something sporty this year.”
The pair hope to raise several hundred pounds helped by supportive local residents.
Earlsdon Councillor Allan Andrews and community police officers also came along to the shop to help add some miles to the clock.
Tilly added: “I’m hopeless on a bike – I did go travelling for eight months and I used the bike a lot, but I’m not that good on it. As long as I’m not going too fast I’ll be alright.”
