Paul Collins was riding a red Suzuki bike when he was involved in a collision on the A422 Banbury Road, near Ettington, on 22 December.

The civilian crime support manager, from Southam, worked for Warwickshire Police in Stratford-upon-Avon.

Police are appealing for witnesses as part of their investigation.

Mr Collins was travelling from Stratford-upon-Avon when his bike was involved in a crash with a blue Range Rover travelling in the opposite direction.

'Wonderful man'

In a statement his family said: "Our family has been left truly devastated by the loss of Paul. He was our rock and without him his wife, daughters, son-in-law and grandchildren's lives will never be the same again.

"We are immensely proud to have been part of his life and will continue to remember the loving, warm and inspirational man he was.

"Words cannot express how grateful we are for the support we are receiving from friends, family and all of his work colleagues past and present, especially Warwickshire Police (his second family)."

A spokesman for Warwickshire Police said officers were keen to locate the driver of a white van who was travelling towards Stratford-upon-Avon on the A422 in front of the Range Rover before the collision happened.
