Coventry Blaze have completed their roster for the coming season by signing American forward Bryan Jurynec.
The 27-year-old arrives at the Skydome having spent the last three seasons in the International Hockey League and ECHL with Kalamazoo Wings.
Jurynec was recommended to Blaze by former defenceman Jason Robinson, who played alongside him for the Wings.
Among the American's fellow imports at Coventry are Jerramie Domish, Mike McLean and Shea Guthrie.
Blaze coach Paul Thompson feels his latest signing is a real team player.
Thompson said: "I wanted an energy guy who competes and will look after his team-mates.
"We have a good skill level this year and are deep in scoring but we didn't have a guy in the team who could play the role Bryan can.
"I have done a lot of work on him and he has won unsung hero awards.
"I also spoke to Jason Robinson, who I respect as a player and a person. He told me Jurynec is the type of player the team has been missing for a couple of years.
"He is a team guy and plays hard for his team-mates. As soon as I spoke with him I liked how he came across.
"I will be expecting him to contribute offensively and defensively and have an impact on and off the ice.
"When things are a bit flat he can bring life to the building and the bench. I have spoken to four or five people and they all say he is a great team guy and he has a great attitude.
"The roster is done and I like the shape of the team. We have addressed the areas we wanted to improve and I feel we have upgraded in a lot of areas.
"A lot of work has been done in putting the team together and I am excited about the new season."
