Norovirus has temporarily closed three wards there – Bob Jakin, Adam Bede and the Emergency Medical Unit – although Accident and Emergency is unaffected.

If you want to visit any of the wards there you can only do so between 7 and 8pm until further notice, unless a nurse has agreed to it beforehand on compassionate grounds.

The hospital is asking any friends and relatives you are feeling unwell themselves, especially sickness and diarrhoea symptons, to stay away.

Anyone who does visit should make sure they use the hand gel provided at the entrances to all buildings.

The hospital’s hoping to bring visiting times back to normal as soon as possible, in the meantime you can call their switchboard for information on 02476351351 or go to their website.
