David Cameron is in Coventry this afternoon, to meet some of the people who will be turning the West Midlands’ economy around.
Deputy Nick Clegg, Business Secretary Vince Cable and Communities and Local Government Secretary Eric Pickles are also at the Ricoh Arena in the city for the summit.
They have been talking through the new Local Enterprise Partnerships scheme at the Ricoh and just how it can help create jobs and secure big contracts.
Doug Squires, President of Coventry and Warwickshire’s Chamber of Commerce is hoping having Mr Cameron here is the start of something positive: “We can only hope that fairness is going to be the name of the game. The city deserves a leg-up, we’ve suffered as everybody has and we want to make sure that momentum, as little as it is at the moment, is built upon.”
