Police must adapt to new protest era

I foresee riots worse than those of the poll tax and violence worse than the miners' strikes. - I hope I'm wrong.
Of course it'll fit; you just need a bigger hammer.

I'd be surprised if the right to protest wasn't abolished completely in everything but name before the end of this parliament.

Protesters are already subject to massive restrictions unheard-of in previous years and public opinion towards protesters is growing less tolerant daily.

On a side note, it's interesting that when the French government announced a rise in the minimum retirement age of just two years there were massive protests (even by groups too young to be affected for many decades) yet in Britain there was barely a murmour when the minimum retirement age was raised by a whole eight years! :roll:
