As I once lived in Nuneaton I am interested in anything connected to the town, I enjoyed living there.
In my 20s I was eligible for National Service but as I had a lot going on in my life at that time I became a miner as miners were not conscripted. I joined the army later.
Mixing with other miners I often frequented working men's clubs in the town and I remember seeing Larry Grayson in Fife St club, I think he called himself Billy Green in those days. After his show he came down to mix with the miners and I thought what a genuine friendly man he was.
It was much the same camp personality that we saw when he became famous with his Everard, Slack Alice and Apricot Lill. Those names came from his workmates in the jam factory.
A modest man who when he became famous still lived in a modest bungalow in the town that he loved so much. I was really saddened when he died.

He went under the name of Billy Breen and often did a female impersonating act
Of course it'll fit; you just need a bigger hammer.
