More than 130 types of snowdrop flowers are on display at a Victorian gardens in Warwickshire.

The annual Snowdrop Weekend is taking place at Hill Close Gardens in Warwick, starting tomorrow.

The gardens will be open to visitors from 11:00 to 16:00 GMT with several varieties of the spring plant also set to be on sale.

Matt Nolan, centre manager, said the snowdrops had appeared "three weeks earlier" than last year.

"Snowdrops definitely signal the start of the turn of the corner in the winter and that the winter season is now coming towards its latter part," he added.

Mr Nolan said the gardens, run by a charitable trust and relying on volunteers for support, generates income from visitors, plant sales and venue hire.

"We have our Snowdrop Weekend, which is sort of celebrating the main part of the snowdrop season," he said.

"We have more than 130 varieties here for people to come and enjoy."
