Thieves have targeted the second allotment site in Bedworth in two weeks. They struck at the Mount Pleasant Allotment Association in Arbury Avenue.

It comes less than two weeks after another allotment site, in Smorrall Lane, was targeted.

During the break-in at the Arbury Avenue site last night the suspects broke into sheds.

They also cut a hole in the fence that runs round the slough side of the site.

Members of the Mount Pleasant Allotment Association say that they raised the alarm with the police and officers have been down to the site. They have also issued a warning as last night's break in followed a similar incident at Smorrall Lane allotments two weeks ago.

Members have also urged people to keep their eyes peeled for anyone acting suspiciously in the area and to also step up their security.

"Look out, keep eyes open on the allotments sites and people keep a look out around their homes and sheds as well," the club said.

Anyone with any information they want to pass onto officers should call Warwickshire Police on 101.

Details can also be passed on to officers via the independent charity Crimestoppers, which is free to call from a landline and confidential, on 0800 555 111
