They are easy to kill off I ve killed one of mine off. I ve never had seedlings either because they are cut right back to the ground every year. Why are nt the railway cutting them right back then dig them out or damage them which will kill them. Yes I ve seen them growing from houses high up in the brick work and it's always the light purple one which are even along Coventry canal.

In the very old Victorian Cassels books of knowledge in the back of the books it has how the country is run parliament education science also trains etc it said trains will never be on time and run smoothly until the road infrastructure runs smoothly build the roads right and the trains will be on time.
