Thieves scaled an eight-foot fence to raid allotments in Coventry - and even stole one man’s garden gnomes.

Gardeners at the Red House Allotments, off Stoney Stanton Road, returned to their patches of land over the Bank Holiday weekend to find a number of sheds had been broken into with tools, plants and garden furniture all being pinched.

One of the victims of the thieves, Paul Sadler, was shocked to find his gnomes had also made up part of the culprits’ loot.

He said: “On inspection, we found four sheds have been done with tools pinched, plants stolen and even my garden gnomes.

“How they managed to get cast iron furniture over an eight-foot fence is unbelieveable.

“We are not happy as we try to incorporate old age pensioners in to getting involved to try and help them have a better lifestyle, so it’s annoying.”

The allotment owners believe there were two break-ins - one of on Thursday, April 28, and another on Saturday, April 30.

Anyone with information should call police on 101.

Phew! I thought Rachel Lancaster had gone missing. :rolling:
Of course it'll fit; you just need a bigger hammer.
