A grand unveiling took place at Galley Common Infants to mark the final part of the ‘Start with Dance Project’.

The artwork was produced by Dominic Breadmore of Coventry’s Predacom Productions, with the unveiling attended by Brian Bishop and Carly Mee of Warwick Arts Centre, who have organised the project over the past three years with funding from the Princes Trust.

“The photographs are a stunning edition to the garden and the children looked in awe as each one was unveiled,” said headteacher Kay Middleton.

“Start with Dance was part of a three-year programme which we’re lucky enough to enjoy, working in partnership with Warwick Arts Centre. It is funded by the Princes Trust.”

The programme began with Start with Art, followed by Start with Theatre and finally, Start with Dance.

All ‘Start’ projects included an opportunity for the children to take part in workshops and explore different art forms before becoming the artists themselves, creating their own art works, plays or dance pieces.

“Start with Dance concentrated on colour and shape through dance and digital photography,” added Kay Middleton.

“Choreographer at Mercurial Dance Oliver Scott and photographer Dominic Breadmore of Coventry’s Predacom Productions worked with the children, finishing with a performance and a new permanent piece of artwork for the school that fuses the discipline of dance and photography.”
