The owner of a pretty Nuneaton florist said she was 'stunned' when she was told her business was up for a national award.

Claire Wright had to double-check the email she received from The National Small Business Awards 2026 which said her Little Lola’s Florist was one of 15 finalists.

"I couldn't believe it, I had to get my husband to look at it, I was stunned," she said.

As reported by CoventryLive, the opening of the striking florists on Arbury Road was a 'dream come true' after Claire initially started her floristry journey from her family home in Stockingford before branching out to having a horsebox selling her bouquets from the car parks of several pubs in the area.

Now not only has she just celebrated her two year anniversary, but she also now has the award ceremony to look forward to in November.

But who nominated the business remains a mystery.

"I have no idea who it was but I am very grateful," she said.

"The fact we are up for a national award for retail, not just florists, is just amazing, I can't believe it."

Her business has blossomed over the past two years: "It has just got bigger and bigger, so many people say 'we're so pleased to have a florists in the community.;"

Word of mouth has spread much wider than Stockingford with daily deliveries now part of everyday business as well as a flourishing bespoke funeral and wedding service.

But she wants to offer more. "I have lots of plans, there are a few new things I want to do," the mum of two added.
