The Top Secret Life of Edgar Briggs

A very early appearance of David Jason. His timing in this is fantastic - impeccable. He plays the part of a bumbling civilian who saves the life of the chief of MI5, and gets offered a job as a senior spy. And he causes mayhem in every episode, but always manages somehow to 'get his man'.

IIRC, it wasn't the greatest success that David Jason has had?

I believe that a TV company wanted to repeat the shows sometime after the original screenings, (possibly to cash in on D.J's increasing fame?) but he vetoed the idea.

A lot of people liked the show at time, but one could be forgiven for suspecting that there were hidden agendas at work. It really demonstrated his perfect comedic timing!
