When we had police cars in for modification, we had to strike the word 'Police' out and mask off the crowns before road-testing them. One idiot was caught on the A46 with an undisguised car and was wearing what might loosely pass as a police officer's uniform. He was done for impersonating a police officer and it totally ruined his career prospects.
