Sega's forthcoming strategy sequel Shogun 2: Total War has been renamed.According to Eurogamer, the Creative Assembly-developed title will now be released as Total War: Shogun 2.
"Both Creative Assembly and Sega have intended to invert the Total War naming convention for some time," a Sega representative explained.
"The Total War series of games spans over 10 years of titles. We wanted to identify all of these as one series using a more obvious naming convention for players. Revealing the new title with the Shogun 2 box art was the opportune time to do so."
Earlier this year, Sega released Napoleon: Total War as a PC exclusive. It is unknown whether the studio will rename previous entires in the series retroactively.
Total War: Shogun 2 arrives in March, 2011.
