Just Cause 4 comes in a few spots behind

While 2018 is coming to a close, that doesn't mean that there's a lack of big games in its final month, as this past week saw the release of Just Cause 4 and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the latter of which has landed straight at the number one spot in the UK charts, as reported by GamesIndustry.biz.

Ultimate was advertised as pretty much the complete package for fans of the series, which might be part of the reason why it has smashed records (pardon the pun). It's the fastest Switch game released to date and fastest selling game in the franchise, as sales are 302% higher than that of the Wii U game, being 233% higher than the 3DS version and 62.5% more than the Wii game too.

Rico Rodriguez isn't left out of the top 10 though, as Just Cause 4 swoops in at number 6, with sales down 61.5% compared to Just Cause 3, breaking records to become the slowest selling game in the series too. Also, the PS4 version of this game made up 55% of the sales.

If you were looking for Darksiders III on the map, you won't find it, because it's slipped off from the charts entirely, adding to the disappointment around the title both in terms of critical response and sales.

For the full top 10 list look below:

1. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate / Nintendo
2. Red Dead Redemption 2 / Rockstar
3. FIFA 19 / EA Sports
4. Battlefield V / EA
5. Mario Kart 8: Deluxe / Nintendo
6. Just Cause 4 / Square Enix
7. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 / Activision
8. Spyro Reignited Trilogy / Activision
9. Pokémon: Let's Go Pikachu / Nintendo
10. Fortnite: Deep Freeze Bundle / Warner Bros. Interactive
