And Dragon Ball FighterZ does good business too

It's been a week of firsts for Capcom when it comes to UK retail, with the Monster Hunter series scoring its first top spot in the GfK Chart-Track top ten. It's also the first time that we've seen a synchronised worldwide release for the series, with World also eclipsing the previous best set by the 3DS-only Monster Hunter Generations (which debuted in third) back in 2016. It also marks one year since the publisher enjoyed its last chart-topping success, which came with Resident Evil 7. January is turning into a good month for the company.

Only one game can finish on top, but Dragon Ball FighterZ still managed to beat the previous best set by a game in the series (Dragon Ball Xenoverse charted in third back in 2015, although sales for both games were pretty similar). The other debuting title this week was PSVR title The Inpatient, which snuck into the top ten, as you can see below:

1. Monster Hunter: World / Capcom
2. Dragon Ball FighterZ / Bandai Namco
3. Call of Duty: WWII / Activision
4. FIFA 18 / EA
5. Grand Theft Auto V / Take-Two
6. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe / Nintendo
7. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild / Nintendo
8. PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds / Microsoft
9. Rocket League / Warner Bros.
10. The Inpatient / Sony
