Nintendo Switch price, games and specs

A new Nintendo Switch price prediction has been made, following varying reports of what we can expect in January.

Next month will see Nintendo reveal all on their new console, include retail plans, launch lineup and specs.

Various retail leaks have placed that Nintendo Switch price between £250 to £299 in the UK, however there has been nothing official on the subject yet.

Industry analyst Michael Pachter has given his own prediction on the Nintendo Switch price-point, including how well it will sell going forward in 2017.

“The Switch is sold out through September,” Pachter predicted to Gamesindustry.

“The console looks fun, the price appears to be right, and I expect demand to be high.

“If there is a lot of third-party support (games, not merely labels), I think demand remains high.”

Fans will be hoping for a competitive price-point straight off the bat, what with the PS4 and Xbox One lowering in retail value yearly.

Pachter has also gone on record saying that the Nintendo Switch is said to be the easiest console to develop for, which could have a positive impact on the games list.

“I've actually heard from developers that Nintendo [Switch] is the easiest of the Big Three to develop for,” Pachter revealed.

This, he speculates, would make it a more viable platform for studios, because costs wouldn't be as high.

The only potential stumbling block is that Nintendo Switch games might not be able to handle some of the more demanding specs, at least if the specs aren't up to scratch.

Nintendo Switch fans have been treated to some brand new gameplay footage from one of the console's exclusive games.

Nintendo Switch exclusive Seasons of Heaven has been given an impressive gameplay trailer that showcases the console's graphical qualities. In fact, the graphics might look even better following the news that The Khronos Group has made its APIs compatible with the console (but more on that later).

Based on a French novel of the same, the Nintendo Switch exclusive won't be ready for the March release date, and will instead launch in 2018.

It stars a young boy named Yann and his dog Ani, and takes place in a world that has been decimated by a cataclysmic event.
