Destiny going offline for up to 6 hours later tonight

Destiny will be taken offline for up to six hours later tonight (June 22), it has been announced.
The game will be taken offline from 4pm UK time, and will potentially remain that way until 10pm.
It's unclear why Destiny is being taken offline, but it has something to do with "future plans".
It could concern Destiny's upcoming 'The Taken King' expansion, which was officially announced at E3 2015. It will make its debut on September 15.
The 'The Taken King' expansion sees Oryx arriving in the solar system with a corrupted army seeking revenge on the Guardians who destroyed his son Crota.
Players will be able to arm themselves with newfound abilities, weapons and gear as they defeat the Taken hordes.
'The Taken King' will offer exclusive PlayStation content, including a co-op strike called 'The Echo Chamber' - where players can join forces with their fellow guardians to hold off an onslaught of Vex.
PlayStation users will also have access to the new competitive multiplayer map 'Sector 618', the 'Jade Rabbit' exotic weapon, and new gear sets for each class in the game.
