'Worms Revolution' announced for PC and consoles [Video]

Team17 has announced Worms Revolution for PC and consoles.



The game will be an all-new entry in the popular strategy series.

It will be built from the ground up on a new engine featuring 3D terrain and characters in the classic 2D style of the series.

Returning weapons like the super sheep and holy hand grenade will be coupled with new gameplay elements. The game's debut trailer shows worms of different sizes, which may suggest the addition of classes.

Earlier this year, Team17 co-founder Martyn Brown announced that he was leaving the studio.

Worms Revolution is expected to release as a downloadable title for PC and consoles in the third quarter of 2012.
