The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has been named the most-played game of 2011 by game-tracking application Raptr.
According to CVG, Raptr has identified Skyrim as the overall most-played game as well as the most-played RPG, while Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has been named the most-played shooter.
Batman: Arkham City was this year's most-played open world game, FIFA 12 headed up the sports category, The Sims 3 racked up the most amount of hours in the social gaming division, while L.A. Noire was the most-played new IP.
Raptr's game-tracking application covers the gaming habits of more than ten million users across consoles and the PC.
Raptr CEO Dennis Fong described 2011 as a "boon" for gamers, saying that the awards highlight how gamers are "investing the most amount of their precious time playing every day".
