The BBC has offered an update on the second series of Doctor Who: The Adventure Games.

The corporation revealed via the official Doctor Who Twitter that Matt Smith has begun recording voice acting for the second game series, and said that the Time Lord star is in fine form.

"Just back from day in studio with Matt Smith recording the next #DoctorWho Adventure Game. His lines include words 'Imperial' & 'duck'," the Twitter post read.

"Matt's performance is alive with energy. Hook him up to national grid and he could power the UK for a fortnight. Will be best Ad Game yet."

The second series of Doctor Who: The Adventure Games will again feature Amy and The Doctor's interactive adventures. The game will continue to be developed by Sumo Digital, and produced by Steven Moffatt, Piers Wenger, Beth Willis and Anwen Aspden.

Just as with the first series of the game, the episodes will continue to be free downloads for UK licence fee payers.

Doctor Who's current television series returns to BBC One in September with the episode 'Let's Kill Hitler'.

The BBC would say that wouldn't they?

Personally, I'd prefer it if they just stuck to making a decent TV series and abandoned all these extraneous gimmicks which add nothing to the viewing experience for me.
