'James Pond' sequel coming to iPhone, iPad

James Pond in the Deathly Shallows has been announced for iPhone and iPad.



The new entry in the 16-bit platforming series will see James Pond fight sea pollution with his trusty bubble gun.

Featuring an "innovative control method" designed for touch screen devices, the game sees players avoid enemy sea creatures as they travel through an underwater maze.

James Pond in the Deathly Shallows will be the first game in a series of new adventures for the character.

James Pond first appeared on the Amiga and Sega Mega Drive in 1990 and was followed by a number of sequels and spinoffs, including James Pond 2: Robocod and Aquatic Games.

James Pond in the Deathly Shallows, developed by Special Move Games, will release on June 30.
