'Tomb Raider' game dated for 2012 in cinematic trailer...

Square Enix has released a debut trailer for the Tomb Raider reboot ahead of the Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles and confirmed that Lara Croft's next outing is scheduled for sometime between September and November 2012.

Shipwrecked near Japan, budding archeologist Lara finds herself washed ashore on a mystery island, wounded but determined to survive.

She cuts a lone figure not too dissimilar to another digitized treasure hunter, Uncharted 3's Nathan Drake, who will find himself wandering the Arabian Desert on PlayStation 3 come November 2011.

Tomb Raider itself will launch on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Windows PC.

Another Square Enix title, Dead Island, was also given a lavish first trailer when it was revealed back in February.

Both are to feature at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles, June 7-9, along with Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Dungeon Siege III, Final Fantasy XIII-2, Heroes of Ruin, Hitman: Absolution, and French MMO Wakfu.
