A popular Coventry nightclub will close for good next month, it has been confirmed. JJs Nightclub has announced that it will permanently shut on Saturday, June 3.

JJs Nightclub said they have welcomed over one million guests since they first opened in 1999. Final celebrations will now be held over the coming weeks with locals invited to 'take a trip down memory lane' in May and June.

Hundreds have taken to social media to share their sadness at the closure of the popular venue on Croft Road. Events will be held to mark its closure on Friday, June 2 and Saturday, June 3.

JJs Nightclub said on Facebook: “It is with great regret that we can confirm JJs is closing its doors. Having opened its doors in 1999, JJs has welcomed over a million guests and has been home to many memorable nights.

“Over the next few weeks, we will be going down memory lane celebrating the venue, culminating in our closing weekend on Friday, June 2 and Saturday, June 3. Please do come and join us as we say one final goodbye!

“More events to be announced soon. Closing weekend tickets on sale NOW!”

Clubbers shared their sadness over the closure on Facebook. Chanel Carter wrote: “We all need a night out here together! We have all had so many memories in this place including how we met!” Katy Louise said: “One last boogie.”

Others shared their fondest memories of nights out at JJs Nightclub. Fiona McRobbie said: “I remember getting on the stage when this first opened.” Martina Lobban wrote: “Oh no, I feel old was there opening weekend.”

Tickets have been released for Friday, June 2 and Saturday, June 3.
