Harry Styles is set to return to Coventry with a date on his extended European tour taking place at the Coventry Building Society Arena. It marks a triumphant return for the singer who headlined the BBC Radio Big Weekend finale in May this year.

His European tour dates were announced this afternoon (Friday, August 26) with Coventry among the cities on the list. The Coventry Building Society Arena date is on Monday, May 22, 2023.

The 19 newly announced dates are in effect a continuation of the singer’s Love On Tour, which originally began in 2021. All the new dates take place in spring and summer 2023.

Tickets for the 2023 dates will go on sale on September 2. A spokesman for the singer said: “Due to popular demand, international superstar Harry Styles has announced the continuation of Love On Tour with 19 newly announced dates in Europe including shows in Coventry, Edinburgh, Cardiff and London, as well as, a show in Slane, Ireland. Tickets for the newly announced Europe and UK dates go on general sale Friday September 2 at 10am local time.

“Coming off of a sold-out 43-date arena tour in 2021, and two special One Night Only shows in New York and London this year, the highly anticipated tour in support of his new album Harry’s House will allow fans to access multiple nights in major cities across the globe turning iconic venues into Harry’s House. The 2023 European leg will also be Harry’s first full stadium outing in the region.”

Harry Styles’ appearance at this year’s BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend event on May 29 was one of the most talked-about performances of the weekend and was broadcast by the BBC the same evening. And the singer clearly enjoyed it, thanking Coventry for the ‘warm welcome’ in what was only his second ever festival performance

Harry told Coventry ‘thank you for such a warm welcome’ as he brought the Big Weekend 2022 to a stunning close. The pop star spoke to the thousands of people in front of the main stage in the War Memorial Park.

He dazzled in more ways than one - wearing a purple sequinned jumpsuit. He also brought fireworks to the skies above the park after he ended the show with a thumping version of ‘Kiwi’.

At one point in the show, he stopped to thank ‘everyone’ for their support. He even pointed out people in the crowd in light of the fact he has achieved a rare charts double, with a number one album and number one song.

During his set, the crowds went wild when he sang a version of his former band One Direction’s hit ‘You Don’t Know You’re Beautiful.’ He opened his much anticipated set with ‘Golden’ after being introduced by presenter Clara Amfo, who told the crowds they were in for a treat.

It was only his second ever festival appearance, having performed at Coachella earlier this year. “To bring it to Coventry was a very special moment,” said Radio 1 Breakfast show presenter Greg James.
