Alexandra Burke 'can't afford own house'

Alexandra Burke has revealed that she can't afford to buy a house.


The former X Factor winner, who reached number one with debut album Overcome in October, admitted that she is still renting a flat in London until she gets her own home.

"I wanted to buy a house by the end of the year, but I can't afford anything I want," she told The Sun.

"There is a place I've seen that I really want but I can't afford it. I have hardly any money in the bank because it all seems to be going on tax."

She added: "I'm working so hard, but I'm not a millionaire yet."

The 21-year-old, who was mentored by Cheryl Cole on last year's X Factor, added that she was overwhelmed to perform on the Girls Aloud star's ITV1 special earlier this month.

"I was on Cheryl Cole's Night In and it was the best performance of 'Bad Boys' I've done to date," she said.

"It was so much fun because Cheryl was there. I Iove her new hair and she's gone up another level."

Burke releases new single 'Broken Heels' on January 11.
