Katy Perry has revealed the artwork for her upcoming second album Teenage Dream. The singer unveiled a 6"x6" canvas of the cover painted by LA-based artist Will Cotton during a live uStream video.
The sleeve features Perry laying down on her front completely nude, save for strategically placed candy floss, Rolling Stone reports.
At the moment the piece was unveiled, Perry said: "Ooohhh! What will my mother say next? Wow.
"It's so gorgeous. I'm so excited. I'm nervous. I'm shaking a little bit...This is my first piece of real art, except my posters on the wall of Gwen Stefani when I was growing up."
Explaining her decision to go with a painted album cover, she added: "Maybe CDs will be extinct next time I put out the album...so I wanted to go out with a bang for people to remember this. I think our collaboration will make it memorable."
Teenage Dreams is released on August 23.
