Music icons from yesteryear will rewind the clock two decades for a special May Bank Holiday show at a Coventry nightclub.

Stars of the 1990s and 2000s from an eclectic mix of genres will bring their chart-topping hits to Hillfields-hotspot the Kasbah on Sunday, May 27.

Big names on the night will include legendary pop acts S Club and 5ive – alongside other stars such as Gareth Gates, Platnum, Sweet Female Attitude and N-Trance for the exclusive Bank Holiday attraction.

There will be a range of genres on offer for 90s music fans, ranging from the pop-hits of S Club to the bassline sounds of Platnum and the techno beats of N-Trance.

S Club 7, which formed in 1998 and had four chart-topping singles, re-formed as S Club in 2008 and have been touring both the UK and Australia ever since.

Gareth Gates has had a successful music and theatre career since shooting to fame as the runner-up in Pop Idol.

He will perform some of his classic hits including ‘Spirit in the Sky’ and ‘Unchained Melody’. with Sweet Female Attitude’s biggest chart-topping hit ‘Flowers’ also being performed on the night.

The performances have been organised by Retro Live and will also feature hits such as N-Trance’s floor-filler ‘Set You Free’ and bassline tracks ‘What’s It Gonna Be?’ and ‘Love Shy’ from Platnum.

Amarjit Kullar, of the Kasbah, said: “These are some of the biggest names of the 90s and noughties music scene coming to perform right here.

“Fans still know the songs off by heart all these years later! There is a real revival of retro music going on at the moment.

“Performers such as S Club are seasoned veterans of the stage and are sure to put on a great show, bringing the atmosphere of the 90s and noughties back to Coventry.

“It will be a truly varied night, with such a great mix of genres on offer, there is genuinely something for everyone to enjoy in this bank holiday special.

“This is going to be a huge event, make sure you don’t miss out and get your tickets before they sell out!”

Doors on Sunday, May 27 open at 10pm with tickets costing £10, advance tickets are available at http://www.kasbahnightclub.com
