The city is one of four locations playing host to the festival
Coventry’s music scene is about to get even bigger as it was announced the city would co-host BBC Music’s Biggest Weekend.
In the absence of Glastonbury, BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend just got even bigger, and this year be turned into BBC Music’s Biggest Weekend.
As part of the Biggest Weekend, four locations across the UK will play host to BBC music events.
And Coventry has been chosen to represent England, joining Swansea in Wales, Belfast in Northern Ireland and Perth in Scotland.
BBC Music, Radio 2 and Radio 3 join forces to bring two days of spectacular performances to the War Memorial Park.
So far, Snow Patrol, Billy Ocean, Eliza Carthy and the Wayward Band, Nigel Kennedy and The BBC Concert Orchestra will be performing in the city.
The festival will be held in the War Memorial Park on Sunday May 27 and Monday May 28 - the end of the Spring Bank Holiday.
More than half of tickets will be reserved for Coventry residents, and they will cost £18 plus a £4.50 booking fee.
They go on sale on Monday February 12 at 8.30am.
