Bionic, the star's fourth studio album, had been ahead of The Element Of Freedom by Alicia Keys in the midweeks. Keys rose three places to finish behind Aguilera.

Michael Bublé's Crazy Love remained in a strong position in third, following his Audience With... show a fortnight ago, ahead of Glee's compilation album.

Lady GaGa, who released her video for upcoming single 'Alejandro' this week, climbed a place with The Fame Monster. Jack Johnson's celebrations will be short-lived, as To The Sea dipped to number six, down five.

Meanwhile, the late Glenn Miller's presence was made known once again in the top ten, with his Best Of album joining the tribute LP In The Mood in eighth and ninth respectively.

Pendulum's Immersion narrowly kept hold of a top ten place, finishing at number nine, while Pixie Lott's Turn It Up rose seven spots following her single release of the same name.

Katie Melua, Plan B and Florence and the Machine all moved out of the top ten, while The Drums settled for 14 with their eponymous debut LP.
