Val Doonican has died at the age of 88.
The Irish entertainer was a hugely popular singer and TV presenter for several decades from the 1960s.
He was best known for hosting The Val Doonican Show on the BBC from 1965 to 1986. He also famously knocked The Beatles' Sgt Pepper album off the top of the UK chart in 1968 with Val Doonican Rocks.
Doonican had many hits in the UK, including the singles 'Walk Tall' and 'Elusive Butterfly'. He was known for his novelty-style recordings and for his trademark rocking chair and bright cardigans.
The singer quit performing in 2009, and retired to his homes in Buckinghamshire and Spain.
