The show, which will feature a mix of classic carols and new Christmas hits, will take place at The Abbey Church of St Mary the Virgin, in Manor Court Road, on Monday.

Students have been busy preparing for the show, which will bring about sprinkle of festive spirit for the audience just in time for Christmas.

Alana Shirley, the academy director said: “The ‘Step Into Christmas’ concert was an idea borne out of the fact that at this special time of year, there are very few events which celebrate the traditional, instead of commercial aspect of Christmas.

“The concert is the culmination of months of hard work and I expect everyone who attends, to have a fantastic night.”

Santa will also be making a special appearance during the night to help raise money for the charity Against Breast Cancer and will be greeting the children and handing out sweets.

As well as the festive music, all the students will be dressed in an array of colourful festive costumes inside the church, which will be light up in its full glory for the show.

The academy includes students of all ages who will be appearing in the show and entertaining the crowds for a collection of specially-chosen songs.

A selection of refreshments will be served in an interval including tea and coffee, cakes and biscuits for people to sample.

Tickets for the ‘Step into Christmas’ concert are £9 for adults and £7 for concessions.

Tickets are still available but are limited.

Concert tickets are available by calling 07737 576 099.
