Nico & Vinz have become the first Norwegian act to reach the UK number one spot since 1986.

'Am I Wrong', which is the duo's debut single, has jumped 51 places to top the charts.

Nico & Vinz said of their chart-topping single: "Wow! Thanks to all our British fans for making 'Am I Wrong' the Number 1 single!

"Growing up in Oslo, we always dreamed of being at the top of the UK chart, so for this now to be true is completely surreal. We are extremely grateful to you for making that happen and can't wait to come and play it for you guys live very soon."

The last time a Norwegian act topped the UK charts was in 1986, when A-ha scored a hit with 'The Sun Always Shines on TV'.

Last week's number one, 'Rude' by Canadian band Magic! slips one place to number two, despite clocking up over a million streams this week.

OneRepublic's new track, 'Love Runs Out' debuts at number three, providing the band with their sixth UK Top 40 hit.

Cheryl Fernandez-Versini falls a further two places with 'Crazy Stupid Love', which is now at number four, and the top five is completed by George Ezra's 'Budapest', which climbs one place from last week.

Jessie Ware scores her first ever UK Top 40 hit with new single 'Tough Love', taken from her forthcoming album of the same name. Earlier this week Ware told OfficialCharts.com that she was not convinced that her song would reach the Top 40.

"I don't think the song is radio friendly at all!" she said. "This song was just to give people a taster of what's to come, so for it to chart is crazy and really reassuring ahead of the new album."

Elsewhere, Kiesza's 'Hideaway' re-enters the chart at number 37, while Maroon 5 climb 11 places to number 40 with 'It Was Always You'.
