Lily Allen has climbed to the top of the UK charts with her cover of Keane's 'Somewhere Only We Know'.

The track - which is featured in this year's John Lewis Christmas advert - becomes Allen's third UK number one single, following 2006's 'Smile' and 2009's 'The Fear'.

Allen beat Bastille's 'Of The Night' to the top spot, edging ahead of the midweek leaders by just 660 copies in the closest chart battle of the year.

She told The Official Charts Company: "I'm thrilled to be Number one and obviously especially delighted to have two tracks in the Top 10. Thanks to everyone who has supported me. I'm really looking forward to 2014!"

The X Factor's Gary Barlow is a new entry at number three with 'Let Me Go', which is the lead single from his new solo album Since I Saw You Last.

Ellie Goulding falls one place to four with her Children in Need single 'How Long Will I Love You', while Eminem and Rihanna's chart-topping collaboration 'The Monster' completes the top five.

Martin Garrix falls from number one to number six with his debut chart-topper 'Animals', while 'Look Right Through' by Storm Queen drops a place to seven.

Little Mix's 'Move' sits at eight after three weeks on the chart and Lily Allen scores her second Top 10 hit in as many weeks with her single 'Hard Out Here', which debuts at number nine.
