Specials star Neville Staple back in Coventry

Specials legend and the 'Original Rude Boy' Neville Staple makes his return to the city next month when he brings his unique brand of ska back for the first time in 18 months.



The 57-year-old former Specials front-man will headline a show, which has been promoted by 2-Tone Central, at Coventry University's Square One venue on December 8

Support comes from one of the nuttiest bands around in Kidderminster’s The Stiff Joints whose reputation as a crowd pleaser is growing at every gig.

And opening the show is rapper, poet and musician Johnny Concrete, one of Sam McNulty’s discoveries, and very much a real Coventry talent.

“This is a rare chance to see the front-man of the Specials bring his own show to his native city,” said Pete Chambers, director at 2-Tone Central.

“Listening to all those iconic songs is a great experience, especially in the city that help to create many of them.

“Above all this is a fundraiser gig to help fit-out Coventry’s own Music Museum, something very important for this musical city of ours.”

There will also be a silent auction of exclusive signed Specials memorabilia on the night.
