Coventry Cathedral will host the first of two performances of Brahms’ iconic German Requiem on Saturday, November 10.
The concert by the famed Saint Michael’s Singers forms part of the city's Peace Festival.
Conducted by Paul Leddington Wright, they will be joined on stage by the Parliament Choir, which includes Meriden MP Carole Spelman, and the The Southbank Sinfonia, Britain’s leading orchestral academy.
Two rising stars of the opera world, Ilona Domnich and Robert Davies, will be the soloists.
Coventry-born Simon Over, who is musical director of the Parliament Choir and founder of the Southbank Sinfonia, will conduct the London performance at Westminster Cathedral on Wednesday, November 14.
Brahms’ German Requiem is a work which seeks to comfort the living and provides a message of hope for those who mourn as we remember all those lost through the tragedy of war and conflict as well as lost family and friends.

THE Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) will perform its interpretation of a new poetic liturgy at Coventry Cathedral on Saturday, November 17.
Redcrosse offers its new vision of England and St George through new poetry by the former Poet Laureate Andrew Motion, the winner of this year’s Costa Prize Jo Shapcott, Michael Symmons Roberts and Andrew Shanks.
The production - premiered at the Windsor Spring Festival - also includes original music by Grammy-award winning Tim Garland for trio Acoustic Triangle and the Choir of Royal Holloway, University of London.
