The number 13 is proving lucky for members of Coventry’s newly-formed Xtract Productions.
City producers John Kuzminski and Rob Murphy have put together a top cast and have been busy rehearsing 13 The Musical for the last several weeks.
They are now offering city audiences a sneak peek of the show before they head off to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
John says: “The musical has come on leaps and bounds. We have had two of Coventry’s biggest composers and musical directors come and work with the cast and they have both sung the praises of the show... without us bribing them.
“Also, we have had Tony award-winning composer Jason Robert Brown contact us directly – as well as recommending our show to his 11,000 followers. The show is looking and sounding amazing.”
They group have been busy fundraising over the past eight months and have held cabaret nights, concerts, local gigs and car washing sessions to help raise the money to take the show to Edinburgh.
13 The Musical opens at Woodlands School, Broad Lane, Coventry, today with performances until Saturday. The production then opens at the C-1 Venue in Edinburgh.
