Sony warehouse fire - Three teens arrested

Three teenagers have been arrested in connection with the fire at the Sony DADC warehouse in Enfield, North London on Monday.



Two 17-year-olds and an 18-year-old have been held over violent disorder and arson. One of the 17-year-olds was bailed, while the others remain in police custody, London 24 reports.

The fire at the warehouse - home to music distributor PIAS - destroyed the stock of independent record labels including XL Recordings, Beggars, Domino, Wall Of Sound, Warp Defected, Sunday Best and Big Brother.

Meanwhile, Sony DADC has announced that over 1.5 million discs are in the process of being remade at sites in the UK and Austria, with the first of the remanufactured stock due to be delivered to retailers tomorrow.

Record label Beggars estimated that it lost around 750,000 in the fire, but added that it had stock in other locations to send to clients. It could take up to three months to replace its vinyl stocks.

The fire has affected the release of Arctic Monkeys new single 'The Hellcat Spangled Shalalala' after stock of the CD was ruined.

A recent statement from Sony read: "Sony DADC have identified a temporary distribution partner and it is envisaged that they will be in a position to pick, pack and ship orders in the course of next week."
