X Factor star Andy Abraham has flown to Switzerland to record a song with Coventry lyricist Samantha Robson.
Sam with Andy Abraham (right) and Ad-RianThe former binman, who finished second in the 2005 series of the ITV show, sings on Holbrooks-born Sam’s new song Changing, which she wrote with Swiss musician Ad-Rian.
It’s yet another feather in the cap for Sam, 24, whose poetry was published for the first time in the pages of the Coventry Telegraph.
She said: “The song is very different to anything Andy has ever done before. It’s a pop song but with a very dark feel to it.
“I’m really proud of the track.
“Andy is great to work with. So friendly and grounded. When you see him on the television, he’s exactly the same in person.
“This was another reason myself and Ad-Rian wanted to work with Andy, because we had heard that he is a pleasure to work with. He didn’t let us down,”
Sam wrote the lyrics for the new song and Ad-Rian wrote the music. After deciding it would perfectly suit the X Factor runner-up’s voice, Sam got in touch with his management.
Six weeks later the trio were in the studio recording the track.
