Pendulum score first ever No. 1 album

Pendulum have secured their first number one in the UK album charts this week.

Immersion follows the electro-rock/drum 'n' bass band's previous albums - 2005's Hold Your Colour and 2008's In Silico - which both peaked at number two.

They finished in front of Michael Bublé, who re-entered the charts following his performance on ITV1's An Audience with... show, jumping an impressive 19 spots. Glee's third volume of The Music and The House, Katie Melua's first studio album in three years, debuted in third and fourth place respectively.

Elsewhere, the Rolling Stones's brief triumph with re-release Exile On Main Street ended as it slid four places to number five. Alicia Keys leaped two places to move ahead of Plan B and Lady GaGa, who both slipped from last week.

Meanwhile, Faithless held onto a top ten place, after plummeting to ninth spot, while Florence and the Machine stuck in tenth position. The Baseballs, Keane and AC/DC all dropped out of the top ten, landing at 11, 16 and 17 respectively.
