One of the biggest clubbing names is coming to Coventry as part of the city’s amazing summer of entertainment.

Gatecrasher will be taking over the ruins of Coventry Cathedral with a festival-style extravaganza that will combine classical music and dance music.

The event, which Gatecrasher is describing as “a boutique festival in the heart of the city,” takes place on Saturday August 18 and runs from 4pm until 2am.

It is part of a series of Gatecrasher Outside events and comes towards the end of a summer that has already seen the BBC’s Biggest Weekend and the Rolling Stones come to the Coventry.

It will take place just a fortnight before the annual Godiva Festival in Coventry’s War Memorial Park.

Full details of the event are yet to be released and according to the promoters tickets will go on sale “very soon”.

Gatecrasher’s Coventry Cathedral Ruins event will be limited to 2,000 tickets.

Advance publicity promoting the event says it will feature live performances, the 40-piece Gatecrasher Orchestra and a line-up of DJs.

It says: “Join live performances and the 40-piece Gatecrasher Orchestra immortalising the biggest dance tracks in this daytime summer party setting alongside a full on DJ line-up TBA.

“The wait is over ....The Lions returns to the Midlands with a kick ass show incorporating both the Gatecrasher Classical concept and a full on DJ line up in one amazing space.”

It adds that the “open air intimate boutique festival experience” will feature a wide variety of stalls, street food, prosecco and cider bars and funfair rides.

The Coventry Cathedral Ruins event will give those who attend a foretaste of a big celebration Gatecrasher has planned for later in the year to mark the global clubbing brand’s 25th birthday.
