A memorable night is set to take place in Coventry next week as Zoe’s Place hosts is annual charity ball
Hosted at Coombe Abbey on Friday (May 19), the popular event raised more than £60,000 last year – and it’s hoped that total can be beaten this term.
Compared by Coventry’s own John Dalziel, the event will commence with local soul singer and star of The Voice Letitia George, entertaining guests.
UB40 founder member and saxophonist Brian Travers – a big supporter of the hospice – is also a confirmed guest as is Zoë’s Place Patron Lady Daventry and her husband Lord Daventry.
Also in attendance will be Nathan and Claire Baines who will be sharing their very personal experience of Zoe’s Place, which cares for their little boy Joel.
A special auction raising funds for the hospice will also take place.
Prizes including a two-night stay at the Madeira hotel, a sport of kings experience at Ian Williams Racing, and a British Superbikes Sunday race day at Silverstone will be auctioned off.
Once again there will be the exciting ‘ring in the box’ competition through which one lucky lady will win a diamond ring donated by Matthew Johnson Jewellers, valued at over £1400.00
Every penny raised on the night will go to Zoë’s Place annual running costs of £1.3 million per year.
Peter Jarvis, managing director of Warwick-based Contechs, is the chairman of the Zoe’s Place Business Group – a group of business and community leaders from across Coventry and Warwickshire who have joined forces to help keep the charity’s doors open.
He said: “We have had great support and this year’s ball looks set to be a fantastic night and we hope everyone digs deep to support this great cause.
“Zoë’s Place provides a real lifeline to the children and their families and it is vital that this service continues.”
