GaGa's multi-platinum record first reached the top spot last April as The Fame, when it reigned over the charts for four weeks, before returning to number one last month after being reissued with eight extra tracks as The Fame Monster. It has now spent 62 consecutive weeks in the albums chart, including 43 weeks in the top ten.

Elsewhere in the top ten, the only new entry was the second volume of songs from Glee, which went straight in at number two. The first volume climbed three places to number six.

Last week's number one, Boyzone's Brother, completed the top three, while Mumford & Sons climbed back into the top ten, with Sigh No More reaching number nine.

However, Michael Bublé's Crazy Love slipped five places to number 11, while the original cast recording of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Love Never Dies dropped from number ten to number 26.

Meanwhile, the Sugababes failed to crack the top ten with Sweet 7 and ended up charting at number 14.

The top ten albums in full:
1. (5) Lady GaGa: 'The Fame Monster'
2. (-) 'Glee' Cast: 'Glee: The Music, Volume II'
3. (1) Boyzone: 'Brother'
4. (2) Gorillaz: 'Plastic Beach'
5. (3) Alicia Keys: 'The Element Of Freedom'
