Hundreds of guitarists joined Slade musician Dave Hill in an attempt to break a guitar world record.
The event at Coventry's Ricoh Arena raised money for Childline.
Guitarists at Childline Rocks aimed to beat the record for the most guitar amplifiers used simultaneously.
Hill, lead guitarist and backing vocalist with the Wolverhampton glam rock band, said before the task the resulting sound would be interesting.
He said: "I imagine there will be one or two people doubling up on one amplifier, so I think it's going to be quite a melay or cacophony, as they say, of sound... I am just interested to know what tune they are going to be playing!"
Hill said he had never been involved in a record-breaking bid, but Slade's drummer had done something similar.
"I know our drummer Don Powell had been in the 'largest ensemble of drummers' and they all had to play one particular beat to a certain record and Don Powell was so loud that some of the drummers had to move away from him," Hill said.
