Coventry folk may already be familiar with his work, but David Goody has released a new song just in time for the end of 2015.
Goody is a city musician famed in local circles for his witty and wonderful tracks.
Always championing Coventry's heritage and culture, Goody's back catalogue includes songs ranging from the laugh-out-loud funny Spon End Santa and Rules Of The Coventry Ring Road, to the brilliant Straight Out Of Earlsdon.
Now, though, Goody has decided to take on another staple of Coventry culture with his newest effort, We Call It A Batch.
You can listen to the utterly infectious song, which boasts sharp and resonating lyrics, above.
Goody, a multi-instrumentalist songwriter who according to his website is "currently trading in ukulele based absurdity", says his songs are a mix of the surreal, absurd and downright silly.
He is a regular performer at The Tin Music and Arts venue, and Millsy's Cafe Bar in Earlsdon, as well as boasting past performances at Godiva, End Of The Road, Wilderness and Glastonbury festivals.
Story Link It's finally here...Coventry has its very own Christmas song
David said: "I enjoy writing songs about local things and the small things in life that are important.
"The different names given to bread rolls across the country are something I think is a great piece of regional character but I felt it was time to properly champion the batch - the true name for the bakery product that holds your bacon, pork or chips."
Focusing on the batch, David's song tells listeners: "These inferior versions I will forsake, I mean, what the blazes is a balm cake?"
David added: "I’m hoping this will help people coming to Coventry to order things correctly and maybe we can convince the rest of the country that they've got it wrong."
An early contender for Christmas number one? Let's hope so, David.

Cheeky Coventry musician tried to convince Kanye West to join forces for Christmas single
When you think of Christmas duets, who springs to mind?
Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra? John Lennon and Yoko Ono? Perhaps Nicole Kidman and Robbie Williams?
Well how about a festive tag team of Coventry musician David Goody and hip-hop rapper and producer Kanye West?
When David was putting pen to paper on his latest wacky Christmas creation, there was only one person he could think of working alongside.
The 36-year-old from Cannon Park said: “In the end I decided to go global and record a Christmas song about Kanye West taking over from Santa Claus.
“I figured that since Kanye is right about everything - including who should win Grammy awards, how to run the USA and how to sing Bohemian Rhapsody - then he’d be ideal to replace Old Saint Nick and run Christmas in his own way.”
Not content with simply writing the song - named Kanye Xmas - about the American star famous for hits such as Gold Digger and Jesus Walks, David wanted Kanye West to join him in recording the song.
So David, who is famed in local circles for his witty and wonderful tracks including Spon End Santa, Rules Of The Coventry Ring Road and his most recent effort We Call It A Batch, penned a letter to Kanye’s agent.
The letter, with tongue firmly in cheek, read: “It has been eight years since Kanye West last had a number one single in the UK and that is far too long for an artist of his calibre.
“On the back of his highly-praised performance at the Glastonbury Festival I believe there is an opportunity for Mr West to have a number one single in the high-profile UK Christmas single chart.
“Based on my knowledge and understanding of the UK singles market, I have written a song which I believe blends Mr West’s trademark sound with the popular characteristics of the UK Christmas single.
“I am open to the track being re-written or re-worked by Mr West and would be happy for him to claim a co-writing credit should this be required.
“I truly believe this is a great opportunity for Mr West and look forward to hearing from you.”
Sadly David’s enthusiasm was not shared by those in Kanye West’s camp and his offer was turned down, leaving David to release the song by himself.
The song will be part of an EP of Christmas songs by a set of Coventry musicians, including Fall Girl, Jack Hopkinson Viktoria Izzie Derry and Jeff Morris.
The EP will be released on Sunday December 13 at http://www.soundcloud.com/domesticated-records
