Despite only being released on Tuesday, the duet from Eminem's new album The Marshall Mathers LP 2 beat tough competition to land straight at the top.

The pair previously peaked at two with million-seller 'Love The Way You Lie' in 2010.

It is both Eminem and Rihanna's seventh number one single in the UK, while Rihanna equals Elvis Presley and The Beatles' record as the only artists to have seven number one singles over seven consecutive years.

Lorde slips one place from last week's top spot to two with 'Royals'. Fatboy Slim scores his first Top 10 hit since 2001, with the Calvin Harris remix of 'Eat Sleep Rave Repeat' landing at three.

One Direction settle for fourth place with 'Story Of My Life', having led the pack for most of the week. OneRepublic complete the top five with 'Counting Stars', slipping two.

Tinie Tempah's new single 'Children of the Sun' enters at six, while Katy Perry slips three to seven with 'Roar'.

The Wanted debut at eight with their latest single 'Show Me Love (America)'. James Arthur drops seven to nine with 'You're Nobody Til Somebody Loves You' and Miley Cyrus falls three to complete the Top 10 with 'Wrecking Ball'.

Foxes scores her highest-charting solo hit so far, with 'Youth' entering at 12.

Justin Bieber's latest single 'Recovery' is new at 28, while boyband MAD enter at 37 with 'Toy Boy'.
