It starts at 12pm on Saturday and will feature guest artistes, performances from various groups and clubs, workshops and a banjolele set by members of the George Formby Society. People are encouraged to take their ukes along and join in. For more information visit http://www.spastrummers.co.uk or http://www.newboldcomynarms.co.uk

Ukulele Festival was a strumming success

There was a very distinctive sound heard around Leamington last Saturday.

This was because hundreds of players came to the Newbold Comyn Arms pub for the town’s first ukulele festival.

The event was organised by amateur group Spa Strummers, who performed and held workshops to teach people about the ukulele.

It comes as no surprise to learn that the George Formby Society were also there!
