There will be some added spice at a Coventry nightclub on Friday as the venue welcomes the Mexican stars of the Doritos television adverts.

Mexican acoustic outfit, The Mariachis, will play at Hillfields-hotspot the Kasbah on Friday, October 18.

The South American songsters have racked up 14 million online video views and half-a-million Facebook fans after putting a Mexican twist on pop classics such as Human League’s ‘Don’t You Want Me’ and E17’s ‘Stay Another Day’ as part of a £4million advertising campaign for the seasoned tortilla chips seller.

Their success has seen The Mariachis perform for the Royal Family, help open the BAFTAs and take the stage in front of 30,000 people at this summer’s Wireless music festival.

Thanos Staikos promotions manager at the Kasbah said: “The Mariachis are a band that everybody recognises from their part in the Doritos commercials. They will be playing all the favourites from their adverts along with a number of their other adaptations, so it should be really good fun.”

Admission is £4.50, for over-18s only, and includes entry to the venue’s club night after the show.
